Fort Walton Beach has many activities for the whole family, including the Emerald Coast Science Center, HH ARTS Gallery, Camp Walton Schoolhouse Museum, and the Indian Temple Mound Museum. You can explore the area’s deep-rooted history and culture, or simply spend a day out of the beautiful Emerald Coast sun.

The Emerald Coast Science Center is a popular destination for families who want to spend some time learning. The science center is home to technology exhibits, robots, science demonstrations, and animals.

Downtown Fort Walton Beach also has several parks, including Ferry Park, Fort Walton Beach Landing Park and Liza Jackson Park. Ferry Park features a tennis court, disc golf course, trails, and a picnic area. Located right along the water, Liza Jackson Park has some small walking trails, a picnic area, fishing pier, and boat launch.

You can also take advantage of regular events like the Downtown Art Walk, which is the first Friday of every month from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. from March to November. You can meander through the streets of Downtown Fort Walton Beach to find local art and handmade jewelry. The downtown farmers market is another popular local event that takes place year-round on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month. The event is held at Fort Walton Beach Landing Park.
