Destin West Bayside Residences: Your 2026 Lazy River Sanctuary
Trade the Car Seat for a Float Tube. Imagine a morning where the hardest decision is which floatie to grab. At our Bayside residences on Okaloosa Island, we’ve traded the "Highway 98" stress for a dedicated Lazy River Sanctuary. You can wake up, grab a coffee, and watch the kids head straight for the 700-foot lazy river while you relax, no car seats or traffic lights required. With zero-entry pool options and safe, shallow splash zones, this side of the resort is designed for families who want to maximize their water time while keeping things simple and safe.
Master the Bayside-to-Beach Flow
Seamless Island Logistics. Staying on the Bay doesn’t mean missing out on the surf; it means mastering the Bayside-to-Beach Flow. Our private Skybridge acts as the ultimate logistical win, providing a pedestrian-safe shortcut that connects your residence directly to the Gulf. In 2026, you can enjoy the calm waters of Choctawhatchee Bay in the morning and transition to the sugar-white sand by lunch in a frictionless five-minute walk. Whether you’re utilizing our residences with extra bunk rooms for the kids or enjoying the view from your private balcony, you are always at the heart of the island's premier "no-drive" ecosystem.

Stay steps from the Lazy River at Bayside
Can Gulfside guests use the Lazy River? Yes! All guests of Destin West Vacations, regardless of where your condo is located, have full access to the Bayside amenities. -
Destin West Heron and Destin West Osprey: These newer buildings overlook the bay and pool deck, offering the quickest elevator access to the water.
-
Destin West Pelican and Destin West Sandpiper: These buildings wrap around the amenity deck, providing stunning views of the river winding through the palms.
Are tubes provided? Yes, clear inner tubes are provided for guest use at the Lazy River entrance. You do not need to bring your own large inflatables.
Is the Lazy River heated? The 700-foot Lazy River is not heated, making it refreshing in the summer. However, the Bayside complex features two large hot tubs and a smaller heated pool (The Waterfall Pool) for year-round enjoyment.
The "Neon Night" Experience: Don't just visit during the day. The Lazy River is illuminated with special underwater neon lights in the evening, creating a magical glow. It is open daily until 10:00 PM, making it the perfect spot to wind down after dinner at The Boardwalk.
