Description

Heron PH03 is the Ambassador Penthouse Suite at Destin West Beach and Bay Resort. It located on the top floor of the Heron building with a double-decker waterfront patio. This stunning oasis includes three bedrooms and three bathrooms and is facing the Choctawhatchee Bay.

This updated unit accommodates up to six people, with easy access to the pool and lazy river. It has its own spacious wrap-around balcony with a spiral staircase leading to the rooftop private patio with a four-person hot tub. This unit is professionally decorated with gorgeous furnishings as well as an amazing audio/visual package and 2024 TVs throughout.

The master bedroom features a magnificent king size bed with dual side tables and lamps. This bedroom also features a Sony Flat Screen television and custom lighting. The master bath includes a full-size stand up steam shower (glass enclosed), adjacent to an enormous Jacuzzi tub, with dual vanity and sky lights installed. Both guest bedrooms come with a view, and include their own entertainment centers and personal storage.

The living room features a 65” Sony Plasma Flat Screen TV for priceless family entertainment, and an elegant, dark wood dining table that seats eight. Living room sofas purchased March 2024. A chef's kitchen is fully furnished with state-of-the-art appliances; a side-by-side refrigerator, equipped with water and ice, ultra-quiet dishwasher, oven with smooth top range and a built-in microwave. The kitchen also features crown molding, granite counter tops, a coffee maker, toaster, blender, garbage disposal, and utensils. There is a total of 3 Flat Panel TVs. The laundry room (in the unit) has a front-loader washer and dryer. Free cable modem and internet access are provided.

Renters must be 25 or older.

We’ve stayed at Destin West five times over the last decade and this is by far the most beautiful condo. The only problem is the little things, things you would expect in a condo of this price. There’s not enough silverware for instance and neither are there enough bath towels. There’s no toaster oddly enough and the coffee maker takes 30 minutes to make coffee. A few extra dollars spent would go a long way to among this a five start experience.

We loved everything about the place. It has all the cooking utilities you will need. The only thing I was upset about was no cushions for the chaises upstairs. The place was spacious and enjoyed watching fireworks from the rooftop. I do wish it had a grill upstairs. Every other rooftop unit had a grill. We would love to stay here again.

Overlly spacious condo! Bed's and furniture very comfy! Loved the large dining room table for hosting friends to come enjoy a nice meal in the evenings. The view and space up top can not be competed with! The steam shower in the master bath is life saving after a full day of sun! The kitchen is very spacious and has your basic needs. Only complaint is no tupperware for your long term stays and cooking every night. I also would LOVE to see a grill on that upper deck for the private patio and the price of the penthouse, but that's just a wishlist. Loved our stay, already booked for 6 months from now!

This condo was elite. Top tier. The pictures simply did not do it justice. The only hiccups I would suggest for improvement would be better labeling on light switches. There are a lot and it took until 6 days into our stay for us to feel comfortable with what was what. The other hiccup was the tv would sparingly go black for a second before the picture came back. All in all, it’s a great spot and well worth the money!

The room, Heron PH3, was very underwhelming. The major issue was the hot tub was inoperable. There were light fixtures missing in the ceiling, the walls were very scuffed and in need of repair, the ceiling was cracking in numerous spots, the lamps in the first bedroom were broken, the lighting in the first bedroom bathroom is very poor, the window shade in the first bedroom was broken (we hung a bedsheets over the window). Overall the room condition is very poor and not at all what it was made out to be. For this being advertised as one of their premier condos, we were very dissatisfied.

Our stay was very good. This unit is very large in size. There are many dings, scratches and stains however in this unit that need some love and the furniture needs updating. We had 6 adults and an 8 month old so we were comfortable. Hot tub area needs some love and better furniture as well.

Was overly excited to stay in this unit initially. Management Company called us the day we were checking in to tell us the hot tub was not in working condition. This should have been brought to our attention at time of booking, since (after having seen other reviews) they had been having issues with the hot tub for several months. Also, we couldn't watch the TV in the living room without having Maintenance come and reset it daily. We gave up and basically had everyone in the Master bedroom to watch any tv. Typically, this wouldn't be an issue during the Summer but it was Thanksgiving and with the weather not cooperating it would've been nice to watch the Macy's Day parade as well as the football games. One of the bedrooms has a leaking shower stall that has been soaking the carpeted area for quite some time. Overall this unit is very spacious and has spectacular views of the Bay and surrounding is not very user friendly when it comes to the lighting and motorized shades. Unless this room gets an overhaul in the next few months, I would not consider renting this unit again.

The condo itself is a beautiful one. On the to balcony, views are beautiful. The location was convenient to activities we wanted to do. Which was pool, beach, and eat. Several of our activities were only 10/15 minute drive. This room had several cosmetic issues. We could not use the hot tub due to electric problems. The washer was also effected by electric. (Kept tripping) The outside chairs were frayed, comfy room/hip wise. The ice machine in bar area wouldn't work. Behind the beds, night stands, closet areas there was a ton of dust. The condo seemed to be rush cleaned. Like I said, several cosmetic things. One restaurant we went to was Fuddruckers. It was a pricey one. Personally, I didn't enjoy the food all to well. My husband said the gator bites were good. We enjoyed our visit to Fort Walton.

Overall experience was great. Beautiful beach and great pools. Condo was worn. Hot tub tripped breaker whenever the jets turned on. Beer cans, cigar ash, and water bottles left when we checked in. Someones flip flops were left under bed. Someone came into room while we were out and left towels and toilet paper. We tried to leave comments when checking out, but staff was uninterested.

We absolutely loved our Penthouse . The view was gorgeous, the rooms were very nice the only thing that was missing was a TV and more lighting in the front room . We had a hard time sewing in there. Also the toliets had black build up in them and we bought some clorox and cleaned them. Other than that we enjoyed our stay . I would recommend this room and I hope to book this Penthouse in the future .

The unit was great. Large with 3br, 3.5ba. I feel the unit is designed to target a higher class with darker wood trims and pain color. Lots of remotes that control many different things like the shades. Work great once you figure them out and the batteries have life.
The living room furniture could use an update.
Nice large capacity washer and dryer in the unit. Great having a separate ice maker for daily cooler refills.
They boast heated pools but it was obvious to us and other pool patrons that they didn't have the heat on until mid-week of our stay. A noticeable difference.
Worst part of this unit was the walk to the gym, about a quarter a mile. The beach is further than that.

Absolutely loved staying here, everything is clean, top notch quality, and the hot tub is literally the best reason to stay here. It's also a plus that every room has their own shower. It also has a fully stocked kitchen with pots/pans/dishes so you can cook your meals. Only booking this penthouse from now on!

This penthouse unit is very spacious and luxurious. The kitchen was very well equipped and the expansive view of the bay made meal preparation more enjoyable. The resort is very well maintained with plenty of pools to choose from. The skywalk makes the walk to the beach very convenient. There are many restaurants within walking distance and Destin is a short commute.
